As well as the processor, there’s the BIOS, memory chips, expansion slots for extra memory, flexible ribbon connections to the other circuit boards, IDE Integrated Drive Electronics connections to the hard drives and CD/DVD drives, and serial or parallel connections to things like the USB ports, and other ports on the computer case often soldered onto the mainboard, especially in a laptop. You’re collecting it at an exponential rate every day, especially now that one of the primary ways you engage with students is through digital channels.
